Stewardship is about more than maintaining what we have. It is faithfully caring for what God has entrusted to us, our people, our resources, our ministry, and, most importantly, the Gospel, so that it can be carried forward.
Commitment Sunday will be October 18.
You may return your commitment card at any time between now and October 18. On Commitment Sunday, all of the commitment cards we have received will be presented together as an expression of our shared faith, generosity and commitment to Bethel’s future.
As we enter this year’s stewardship season, we do so at an important time in the life of Bethel. Our theme, “Faithful for the Future: Stewarding What God Has Entrusted to Us,” reminds us that stewardship is about more than maintaining what we have. It is about faithfully using the gifts God has given us to equip disciples, serve others and carry the Gospel forward.
Change is part of the journey before us. As we prayerfully consider Bethel’s future, we are called to listen for God’s direction and move forward with faith and wisdom. God has entrusted us with many gifts: our congregation, our ministries, our financial resources, our time and talents, and the faith that generations before us have shared and sustained. Our responsibility is to use those gifts wisely, remaining open to where God is leading us and how we are being called to serve God’s mission today and in the future.
During a time of change, our commitment to the church matters more than ever. Our financial gifts provide the resources to sustain our ministry, while the gifts of our time and talents give that ministry life and help shape what comes next. The path forward requires every single one of us.
